2.     How much water do you drink on one day?
3.     How much time do you spend in the shower?
4.     How much water do you use for a bath?
5.     Have you had problems with water: your well or the water company?
6.     Where do you get your water from?
7.     Do you use water for your garden? How much?
8.     How can you save water?

(aisbergul)

Strugure nu-s,
nici piatră nu-s,
Însă cad din nori, de sus;
Florile eu nimicesc
La căldură mă topesc.
(grindina)

Cin’ se zbate zi şi noapte
De stânci veşnic se izbeşte
Şi deloc nu oboseşte?
(valul)

Moale, albă şi pufoasă,
Pentru câmp e haină groasă.
(zăpada)

Nu-i făină, dar se cerne;
Nu-i covor, dar se aşterne.
(zăpada)

A lăsat-o Dumnezeu
Ca s-o bei şi tu şi eu.
(apa)

Oglinda cerului
În adăpostul pământului.
(apa din fântână)

Mic şi bun de gură
Să-l opreşti nu poţi;
Nu-l adapă nimeni
I-adapă pe toţi.
(izvorul)

Dis de dimineaţă-n zori
Varsă lacrimi peste flori
Soarele s-a ridicat
Şi pe loc el le-a uscat.
(roua)

About us

We are a group of students from the 5th and 6th grades at Vama Lower Secondary School, Satu-Mare county, Romania.

Our school:
is a small co-educational school (around 300 students), in the country side (Vama), 4 km away from  a little town (Negresti-Oas). We have two lines of study: The Romanian line and the Hungarian line for the Hungarian minorities who live in Vama. We study subjects like: Romanian, Maths, English, French, IT, PE, RE, Arts and Crafts, Bilology, Physics, Geography, History.
The classes start at 8 o’clock in the morning and finish at 1 or 2 in the afternoon. We have 10 minute breaks between classes and a longer break  (20 min) at 10 o’clock for our snacks. We don’t have lunch at school.
Our village (Vama): The name of our village means “Customs” in English because in the old times it was a customs point for those who transported wood to the Check Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. It is situated in Satu-Mare county, in the North-West of Romania, close to the borders with Hungary and Ukraine. Its population is about 3000 people. The village is well known for good quality clay which is found in nature and for the pottery made from it.

Also it is well known for the sulphur spring water found here.
We haven’t really had water deficit problems here until very recently, last summer when the wells ran out of water. It was due to the insufficient rain water.
We are very interested in this subject (water deficit) and we are looking forward to working together with all of you.

What we have done so far: We made teams to research things about water and its importance and possible water problems in the world. We have spoken about water pollution and a few ideas on how not to waste water.

We are coordinated by two teachers:

Mihaela Romaniuc – Our English  teacher. She is 36 years old and she has been in our school for 3 years.
Mihaela Haiduc – she teaches us Physics, Technology and IT. She is 48 years old and she has been a teacher in our school for 25 years.
